01 · The challenge
Building capability at scale.
King & Wood Mallesons set out to build practical transformation capability across six disciplines: Agile, Design Thinking, Change Management, Process Improvement, Data and AI.
The challenge wasn’t simply producing 71 modules. The program needed to feel like one coherent learning experience, while letting each subject be taught in the way that best suited the capability being developed.
Scale without sameness.
02 · The experience
Learning by doing, not just knowing.
Rather than consuming information and recalling it, learners applied ideas through practical activities, scenarios and challenges — with the treatment shifting to suit each capability.

Apply
Use capability in realistic scenarios and challenges.

Create
Build and test ideas through practical activities.

Explain
Use animation and visual storytelling to make concepts easier to understand.

Guide
Use recurring hosts, B-roll and multimedia to create continuity and variety.
03 · The outcome
A capability ecosystem people actually engaged with.
76%
of KWM lawyers earned at least one Belt in the first year.
Six transformation disciplines became one structured ecosystem of 71 modules, with clear Belt pathways that let people build capability progressively.
Varied, practical learning treatments kept the program engaging across disciplines — without losing the coherence that made it easy to navigate.
