01 · The challenge

More than a course. A connected learning experience.

This was a substantial practitioner program running across ten days, with digital learning, video, facilitated sessions and printed resources all playing a part.

The challenge was making those components work as one coherent experience, rather than a collection of disconnected resources practitioners had to piece together themselves.

02 · The experience

Different formats. One practitioner journey.

The experience moved between self-directed learning, demonstration, facilitated practice and supporting resources, each format picking up where the last left off.

Support

Digital learning reinforced practitioner application.

03 · The learning ecosystem

One program. Multiple learning touchpoints.

The learning architecture extended well beyond what practitioners saw on screen.

Participants
Participant resources supported learning and application.
Facilitators
Facilitator materials supported consistent delivery.
Assessors
Assessor resources supported the assessment process.

04 · The design response

  1. 01

    Connect the experience

Design digital, facilitated and supporting resources as parts of the same learning journey.

  2. 02

    Support application

Move beyond knowledge transfer by giving practitioners opportunities to observe, discuss and apply what they were learning.

  3. 03

    Design for delivery

Support not only the learner, but also the people facilitating and assessing the program.

05 · The outcome

A learning system designed around practitioner capability.

The result was a cohesive blended learning experience in which digital learning, video, facilitated sessions and supporting resources worked together across the practitioner program.
